January 11 - 25 2011

This month we say goodbye to Darren, the newest coordinator for VolNepal (in Canada), at the end of his 3 month stay in Nepal. He was able to help with several projects and travel all around Nepal while doing so, From Kathmandu to Bhaktapur, Bharatpur To Pokhara and Sauraha, he enjoyed a very well rounded Nepali experience and look fore ward to his return near the end of the year. We would also like to wish him great success in his VolNepal fundraiser dinner on February 15th where he hopes to raise money for the new Hamro Ghar building.

We also bid farewell to Paiman, Michael and Roya earlier this month and would like to again thank them for their dedication to their work here and hope to see Paiman return in the future.

Some pictures from Darren, Margaret and Crystals trek in the New Year. Some beautiful views seen from poon hill on the Ghorpani Ghadruk 4 day trek.

This month we also welcome returning Volunteer Jackie from Hong Kong and his Friend Brenda also from Hong Kong who will be work with Hamro Ghar for 2 weeks. Jackie will also be doing some work to raise money for the women business center in Chitwan, our hope is to raise enough money to expand the center and create more jobs for the woman being trained in ideal home. Finally we would like to summarize all our success this year, through the help of our growing number of yearly volunteers VolNepal’s projects such as the woman’s business center, computers for Hamro Ghar, excursion trips for the kids and over all improved English skills of all the children have gone from simple goals to great realities and have helped set a new standard for VolNepals ambitions in the future. We hope to add a studying abroad program to our itinerary with the help of local universities and collages as well and a greatly increased number of volunteers from the USA thanks to the help of a placement organization there. We would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all the volunteers, followers of VolNepal online, and online Donators. Without all of you none of this could have happened. Thank you so much!
